Welcome to the home of Quicksand Carnival. We are an independent carnival band based in Sandown on the Isle of Wight and are part of the Quicksand Performing Arts & Media voluntary group.

Our aim is to provide the opportunity for members of the local community and tourists visiting the Isle of Wight, to take part in our brilliant carnivals. But above all we want to have fun and celebrate.

In 2006, Quicksand will be performing the Mas-sive Gala event at Smallbrook Stadium, and the Sandown Main, Sandown Illuminated, Ryde Main and Ryde Illuminated carnivals. We will also be doing some static street performances around the island during the summer. However, our first outing, showcasing some of the bands costumes, will be at the Ryde Arts Festival on July 8.

We are currently seeking new members to join Quicksand in the following roles;

• marshalls & assistants
• photography & video
• artwork
